Granger Reis is delighted to announce that this year we will be supporting the Railway Children Charity! As an organisation as a whole, in which many of the team are parents themselves, it was a cause for which we all felt particularly strongly.

Railway Children

Railway Children fight for vulnerable children who live alone at risk on the streets, where they suffer abuse and exploitation. In the UK, society often denies their existence, and in other countries the problem is so prevalent that it has become ‘normal’.

They run away or are forced to leave homes where they suffer poverty, violence, abuse and neglect. They find themselves living on the streets because there is nowhere else to go and no one left to turn to. The problems they face on the streets are often even worse than those they endured at home. Railway Children fights to change their story. They aim to reach children as soon as they arrive on the streets and intervene before an abuser can. Their pioneering work enables them to get to street children before the streets get to them.

Railway Children work in the UK, India and East Africa to make a sustainable difference and long term change.

After an educational and very useful meeting with Suzanne Parsons from the Railway Children, we are all very eager to get started with our fund raising activities. As a company our aim this year is to raise £20,000, which we are hopeful will make a significant difference in helping children who are living on the streets find safety and support. Everyone within Granger Reis is targeted to raise £250 throughout the year to hit our target of £20,000, making it a truly collaborative effort!

We have created our Just Giving page, on which you will be able to see how we are performing against our target, along with links to specific events we are taking part in and individual’s pages with their own initiatives. We have some interesting ideas taking shape, so watch this space!

We are welcoming all sponsorship and donations, big or small, to help us hit our target and support this fantastic and worthwhile cause.
